When it comes to my experience with digital art, I've had a good many months and years of time throughout my life to teach myself specific skills and stylistic tendencies that I'd otherwise not utilize. While Project 1 is an exploration of something inherently new to me (the printing and folding of something novel like a Zine) it's nonetheless something I feel I can look forward to, as it's an opportunity to apply a wealth of understandings I already have on the matter, and better apply them in a realistic setting. I've had years upon years of practice creating my own art at dozens of different resolutions and in plenty of different styles, and getting to show off that experience is something I'm rather excited for, especially given that I get to do so while using something as modern and efficient as Photoshop.
There's a lot of things I know I could do for my project, but there's a handful in particular that I want to try and focus on - stuff like the use of inverted colors and image collages to add focus to particular portions of the Zine or create new imagery entirely out of something preexisting are both ideas that live rather rent-free in my mind when I think about how I want to tackle the project. Depending on how engaged I am when creating it in my free time, I may as well go over the minimum page count required of us, assuming that I can still nonetheless assemble the Zine in an efficient manner no matter the number of pages. I only hope that my project turns out wonderful, even if it's not exactly what I envision - sometimes, letting one's creative freedom control the outcome of a project can be a very good thing.
