Throughout the breadth of Digital Art this year, I've enjoyed numerous different projects, labs, instructions, and more, and I've had an absolute blast of a time. Whilst my existing work for Project 4 isn't something I'm superbly proud of (I feel it's still a rather unfinished product), I am nonetheless very happy to have been an active participant throughout this semester's class. The majority of the creative process for projects exactly like the last one we completed always starts from a brainstorming process, determining how exactly I can translate an idea, or set of ideas, into a piece of work, without it taking too much time. Ultimately, one of my primary shortfalls when going through this process is the fact that I really, really like thinking about how to do things, and then fall behind in the process of actually developing a piece of work, as a result of taking too much time with the initial creative process or swapping concepts midway through a piece of work. Whilst I've loved the creative aspect of Digital Art, it's that very aspect that's helped me recognize when I've fallen short in developing projects or participating in the class, from not properly finishing a small handful of our labs (though not too many) and having a subpar fourth project. My time this semester has helped me recognize those shortfalls and work to better both my own work ethic and my capacity to recognize them earlier in the future, and I think that's a tremendous benefit for myself to have, especially given just how much I love art itself! No matter what I say in regards to my own work ethic, I've had a tremendous time in the class this year, and I hope to further engage in art down the line, even if DA2 requires an art major I'm not in. ;)
